2012 Logan Awards Now Taking Nominations!
Greetings, Comedy Music Connoisseurs!
It is time for the Logan Awards for Comedy Music to begin once more, and when better than a month that starts with April Fool’s Day? This year we will be accepting YOUR nominations for the best of last year’s comedy music from the end of April until the end of May. The judging magic will happen the first week of June, and then the awards will be presented at the pageantry of DeepSouthCon 50 in Huntsville, Alabama in the presence of Dr. Demento himself. So crank up those stereos and get serious about your comedy! (Wait… did that make sense?)

Unqualified Suggestions Removed
We’ve seen a number of songs that were not released in 2010 suggested, and we’ll continue to remove these. Please don’t nominate songs that are not songs, songs that were released in years other than 2010, entire albums (lookin’ at YOU, Boobles), and please try to limit your suggestions by artist to the one or two you really think deserve the award.
We are trying to err on the side of including songs as eligible, however. And in answer to a specific inquiry, Tom Smith’s 307 Ale was a new recording released in 2010. That’s the recording that will be considered, and the fact that it is a re-release will be a factor in the juror’s decisions.

Award ceremony and concert: Saturday, October 15, from 9–11 pm at Con on the Cob
