The Nominee Suggestion period will be from January 1st through January 14th, 2013. After that, our jurors will pick their favorites from January 15th through 28th. The five Nominees in each of our three categories will be announced during the live recording of “The Funny Music Podcast” on Dementia Radio on January 31st, 2013. The 3rd Annual Logan

It is time for the Logan Awards for Comedy Music to begin once more, and when better than a month that starts with April Fool’s Day? This year we will be accepting YOUR nominations for the best of last year’s comedy music from the end of April until the end of May. The judging magic will happen the first week of June, and then the awards will be presented at the pageantry of DeepSouthCon 50 in Huntsville, Alabama in the presence of Dr. Demento himself. So crank up those stereos and get serious about your comedy! (Wait… did that make sense?)

We are trying to err on the side of including songs as eligible, however. And in answer to a specific inquiry, Tom Smith’s 307 Ale was a new recording released in 2010. That’s the recording that will be considered, and the fact that it is a re-release will be a factor in the juror’s decisions.
